As you can tell from the chart above, the two stars of this match were Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud. Alcaraz would go on to win 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 4-6, 8-6 to win his third US Open title, and Ruud would go on to win it 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6.

There was a lot of talk about how this was Carlos Alcaraz’s best US Open performance and his first US Open final. The fact of the matter is, his performance was his best.
Carlos Alcaraz was dominant in the first, second and third sets of the Match
When you look at the match, you may think that this game went Alcaraz’s way. He won the first set 6-4, 6-1, the second set 7-6, and the third set 6-2, but you may also think that Alcaraz was down a set going into the match.
In any case, Alcaraz was dominant.
As an aside, I should perhaps point out that it was another super match between the top two ranked players in the world, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Alcaraz is known as more tactical, while Djokovic is known for his quickness.
