Shooting on northbound 405 Freeway in Van Nuys leaves one person hospitalized in serious condition
A shooting at the 405 Freeway and Argyle Street on Monday afternoon injured one person, authorities said.
The shooting happened at about 12:40 p.m. near Broadway, said Los Angeles Fire Department Officer Ed Winter. The male driver of a Chevrolet Suburban, who was shot in the chest, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, Winter said. A woman in her 20s in critical condition was also taken to the hospital for evaluation. A man, 19, who was shot in the head, has been released from the hospital. The victim, who investigators believe has non-life-threatening injuries, was taken by car to a hotel and identified later in the day.

Argyle Street was shut down between Argyle and Northbound 134th Street for at least several hours while police searched for the suspects.
